Architecture & Engineering

Ever heard the expression "Back to the drawing board??" That's where you go to solve the problem. The drawing board is where you literally sketch out your plan. With today's complex componentry and architecture that plan needs to be done with pinpoint precision and acute accuracy.

Enter the exciting world of Architecture & Engineering. This school is the place for people with creative minds who thrive on innovation. Before any building is constructed, or any product produced, there must be a plan. Architects and engineers are the people who design the world. Learn the valuable skills needed to turn innovation into invention - Computer Aided Drafting.

Courses consist of:

ARCHITECTURAL DRAFTING - COMPUTER AIDED

Drafting applications, including the use of computer assisted drafting (CAD), enable you to learn to produce a broad range of drawings used in the architectural and construction industries.

Architectural Drafting includes an introduction to General Drafting but focuses on Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) and requires satisfactory completion of the State mandated minimum academic standards in reading, mathematics and language. In General Architectural Drafting, students develop drafting skills to produce basic drawings and acquire proficiency in the application of tools and equipment, applied science and mathematics.

In addition, participants study a broad range of drawings that provide them with a base to be developed in the advanced drafting classes. AutoCAD (Advanced Drafting) provides students with the opportunity to develop computer aided drafting skills through the use of both hardware and software in order to successfully produce computer aided drawings. The course content includes the Fundamentals of Computer Aided Drawing, AutoCAD Drawing Program, AutoCAD.

MECHANICAL DRAFTING - COMPUTER AIDED

Drafting applications, including the use of computer assisted drafting (CAD), enable you to learn to develop detailed working drawings and related specifications for mechanical devices and machining.

Mechanical Drafting prepares students for employment in the drafting community. This course will develop a broad range of skills needed to work in the world of manufacturing. The drafting drafting-a.jpgskills learned include the use of manual drafting tools and equipment, but focus primarily on the use of the CAD workstation, developing computer aided drafting skills, and the use of AutoCAD software.

Students will learn how to draft the most common drawings used in industry, welding, piping, basic structural and architectural drawings, mapping and civil drawings, fasteners and cams and gears, as well as electronic drawings. The skills of working drawings, presentation drawings and AutoCAD are emphasized.
