Commercial Photography is a challenging, technical program that prepares students for careers in commercial photography using a "hands on" approach to learning.

Commercial Photography assignments begin with simple photo skills and build toward the completion of a portfolio and preparation for a job in the field.

The program includes, but is not limited to:

  • Communication Skills
  • Leadership Skills
  • Human Relations & Employability Skills
  • Safe & Efficient Work Practices
  • Use of Cameras & Laboratory Film-Processing Techniques in Portrait
  • Commercial & Industrial Applications With Emphasis on Composition & Color Dynamics
  • Contact Printing
  • Enlarging & Developing Film
  • Use, Care, & Maintenance of Photographic Equipment

Additionally, high school students in Commercial Photography work together, under the direction of the instructor, to create and publish the annual McFatter Technical High School yearbook.
