COMMERCIAL PHOTOGRAPHY TECHNOLOGY

Train for entry-level commercial photography employment. Become proficient in camera use, exposure control and lighting techniques, both film and digital. Master other techniques including Adobe® PhotoShop®, film scanning and much more!
Commercial Photography is a challenging, technical program that prepares students for careers in photography using a "hands on" approach to learning. Assignments begin with simple photo skills and build toward the completion of a portfolio and preparation for a job on the field.
Through the use of books, videos and demonstrations, students develop proficiency in the use of cameras of all formats, exposure controls, compositional elements of design, lighting techniques, film processing and media presentations. Students also learn to produce portrait, commercial and industrial photographs. Additional activities include: digital imaging, scanning film and prints, image manipulation using Adobe® PhotoShop® software and writing files to CD-ROM. |

NEW MEDIA TECHNOLOGY
This program is designed to prepare students for employment in entry-level positions in New Media, Multimedia, and Digital Media as a Presentation Specialist or Multimedia Production Assistant.
This program offers a broad foundation of knowledge and skills to prepare students for employment in digital media, new media, and multimedia positions. The content includes an overview of the skills needed for entry-level positions in these career fields through practical experiences in digital photography, Web page design, digital video editing, and presentation development. Specialized skills in multimedia presentations and production such as video editing, audio input, and 2D and 3D animation are used to produce a variety of multimedia projects.
This program focuses on broad, transferable skills and stresses understanding and demonstration of the following rudiments of the digital media/multimedia industry: collaboration/teamwork, presentation planning, elements of presentation design, storyboarding, integration of video, graphics, digital image manipulation, animation, and audio elements into new media projects/presentations.

Prepare for entry-level position within the TV industry by developing proficiency in lighting, camera, audio, and editing, both linear and non linear. Master other techniques from directing to producing, graphics to preventative maintenance, and much more!
Television Production offers students the opportunity to develop skills necessary for initial employment in the television industry. The program provides competency-based instruction and specialized practical laboratory experiences enabling students to become proficient in the use of the camera and camera operations, audio and video control, lighting techniques, picture analysis, editing (linear and non-linear), graphics and control room/station operations.
Activities involve the use of broadcast cameras and emphasize basic and advanced set/stage design, audio and video methods, Scripting, videotaping and directing/producing. Students also receive basic computer literacy training (Macintosh format). Students use studio and remote television cameras, electronic news gathering (ENG) and electronic field production (EFP) equipment.
Basic Adobe® Photoshop® is being taught for use in the television industry. Students enter this full-time program each semester. Upon successful completion of the program competencies, BECON Internship program and mastery of basic skills requirements, a Certificate of Completion is issued.
Students emerge as broadcast technicians with a wide range of skills enabling them to move into entry-level positions at TV stations, production companies, cable systems, corporate video houses or to pursue self-employment opportunities.
